i got ribbons!

the lake county fair has officially started - and thursday night i got to find out if/how i placed on my entries.

my thunder of louisville photo got a first place! i was pretty unsure about entering this at all ... and apparently the judges really liked it. gold star to april for telling me to enter it.

my interior pool at hearst castle got a second place! i really like this photo ... so i'm pretty happy this one placed.

my necklace/bracelet combo in the last post got a second place, too. no ribbons for my other photos & things. and nothing for my cookies, which disappoints me a little. but i'm happy my photos did as well as they did.

amanda, pay attention to this next part. more people need to enter cakes. this is the second year i've noticed this. this year there were only 6 cakes in the display, although my mom says there were more in the little cooler that i didn't notice. but still - there's a lot of room for someone (*ehem*amanda*ehem*) to come in & blow them away with some great cake decorating.

Yea Becca! I was at the fair last night and I checked your entries out. Impressive ribbonage! I thought you were only entering 2 pictures so I quit looking after I found them and then was surprised when I saw 2 (or 3 I lost count somewhere) more. There was a cool bridge one by the stair end it was taken by an April, was it your friend? I thought it look familar from your pictures of some hike or something. I didn't know you entered a cookie... I walked past thing and wondered if your jalpeno lime on was there.. or was that cilantro lime? Anyways.. I didn't really look. I saw your necklace set and the recycled piece, but I never did find your bead. Where is it hiding at?

april did have a really cool black/white bridge photo - i think she shot it at the dunes, maybe? my bead - if you came in the set of doors that aren't by the stairs & turned right, it was in the first display case on your left. it is SO HARD to find stuff in that building! we walk through on preview night & i'm wanting to find all my stuff (and april's and becca's), but everything's scattered around with no real order. it's nuts. but i guess you see a lot of other work that way.

bethany - thanks for liking my black/white photo! i could hook you up with an 8x10 if you want it for your house. :)
