picture perfect?
the last thing i should be doing in the morning in blogging. i mean, really - go get ready for work, right? but i had to share this photo with you.
this is the current view from my front door. now, those of you who have spent time here may notice it right away, but for those of you who don't see the point of this photo ... do you see the big, ugly water tower? that's not supposed to be there. not only is the monastery golf course becoming a subdivision (which i'm not totally against. but i do wish they'd put affordable homes there for single folk like myself) but they're putting in a water tower. a huge water tower. that sits directly in the center of view from my front door. because, yes ... i'm just that lucky.

wow...that's an eyesore
Oh, well isn't that a nice surprise to wake up too! Suck!!
yuck. So is the monastery no more? Or just the golf course? I used to love going there.
oh, no. that is simply not right. that is just disgusting. the whole area is growing ridiculously out of proportion, but that is hideous. and the monistary can't go... tell me the actual monistary itself is safe...
and seriously... can they not come up with at least a cool design for the watertower? ugh.
How sad is that. Eye sore.
the monastery is staying, they just sold off the golf course. it will soon be "monastery woods" single-family homes, paired homes (can't call 'em duplexes anymore, i guess) and town homes. at least these will be more affordable than the $300,000 condos that went in on the lake a couple years ago.
i think you should start up a contest to see who can come up with the best design to be painted on the water tower. Of course, you would have artistic discretion as to the final outcome. :-) Then the community would get involved-- those who know it's an eyesore can have a creative outlet to do something, and those oblivious can be given the opportunity to be malcontent, and those responsible will have to face the reality that they're terrible people-- and maybe, just maybe, the view out your window will be salvageable. But boy does it look terrible now.
"Paired homes" sounds like a dorm to me. Do the two "dwellings" get private baths?
vandalize it so that it resembles a tootsie pop.
of course... that is my answer for everything.
