big bird pelt

walking around a craft store is therapeutic for me. so on monday, when i felt like ripping my hair out, i left the office and went to jo-anns. with no real focus, i ambled up & down every craft & fabric aisle. i hung out in the quilting section for awhile - checked out the books, the patterns, the rulers. dug through the corduroy - i do love corduroy. ran my hand along the flannels - nice & fuzzy, just as they should be. rummaged through their purse handles - i still love the orangy-red wooden set they have. compared sizes of straight pins - i think the yellow-headed ones are fatter than the others, but i couldn't make sense of their measuring system. poured over their black & white cottons - i WILL make a black & white quilt someday. and then i go to the remnant piles. and there it was. my little half yard of big bird fur for a simple 75 cents. jackpot.
